Wetlands are very diverse areas, at the reserve, our wetland can be very dry, or completely flooded.

The wetlands at the reserve have left unmanaged, allowing them to develop on their own, with the exception of putting a short board walk in to allow visitors to look over the river with least disturbance to any ground breeding birds.

These areas are very important for ground-breeding birds, and unfortunately they are gradually reducing in quantity across the UK, particularly fresh water lands.
