Welcome Area

Hello, and welcome to the Colin Burt Reserve for Wildlife Conservation.

As you enter into the reserve, please take a moment to admire the views looking over the field, the mound, the woodland, and the mountain ridges providing the perfect backdrop.

The reserve was opened in 2005 in memory of the late Colin Burt, a keen conservationist who sadly died in motorcycle accident aged only 38.

Since then the 50-acre waste land has been transformed into the reserve you see today, new footpaths, woodland, fencing, hedging, board walk and bridges all created to provide a diverse range of habitats to suit the needs of many different species of wildlife and flora.

As you enter the site you will find our fantastic shelter and notice board where you can find information about the wildlife and flora that you might find on the reserve, and please, if you see anything while visiting, note this on the board and sign out visitor book.
